Trolley Jaunt (Video)

Yagit. That's the afternoon TV show of a big network with a poster of four children riding a trolley on a railway. It tackles about, yeah you got it right, poverty.

Well, a trolley (a popular mode of transportation along PNR railway) being a kind of day-to-day mode of transpo for some people reminds me of the resourcefulness, creativity and diskarte of Filipinos. That a simple railway of the PNR can be utilized when it's not in use. (seems like majority of the time). You'll see the face and the reality of lower society of the Philippines.

From Sta. Mesa Station to Pandacan Manila, it only costs Php 10.00 per head. Not bad for a time demanding circumstances and an experience. Years back, I often say that I will try to ride this "invention".

Well yeah, of course I did! (With a couple of friends and under the scorching heat of the noon sun)

So I took photos and even made a video for the experience.

(Video taken by a 5MP Tab Camera, hence, apologies.)

or this

(Video made by me, music by audionautix.com)

Photographs I made out of excitement:

The feeling and the sight at some point will leave you breathless. It surely is "we are infinite" kind of moment. But it's all fun and games until you hear the train siren.

It's made of wood and friends, with a help of creativity and determination.

You'll see several power lines,

And when you see this view, adrenaline levels rise.

The depth!

Bus, Taxi, FX, Jeepney, Sedan, Van, Train, Tricycle, Bicycle or Trolley, either way, you still have a story to experience and share. And to all Filipinos (and even foreigners) who tried this regardless of the frequency, I salute you!
